Paul understood this deeply. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, when he pleaded with God to remove his thorn, the Lord responded not with removal but with a promise: "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."

Grace is not the absence of struggle — it is the presence of God in the middle of it. It does not exempt you from the fire; it walks with you through it. It does not remove the storm; it gives you peace in the eye of it.
